The use of social media by governments has steadily grown over the recent years in the GCC region. With some of the highest social media platform penetration rates in the world the MENA Governments are in a unique position to leverage the citizen social engagement in their communications and service delivery strategies.

The GCC Government Social Media Summit, now in its 4th year, continues to be the most important, educational and business-driven social media summit for the government sector.

In light of the recent Arab Social Media Influencers Awards, presented by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the importance of social media has propelled to the top of governments’ communication agendas in the GCC. With a number of government social media projects underway in the region, this is a unique time to host this summit and connect the decision makers, global leaders and communication professionals in this two day, knowledge sharing training platform.
